Next SBE Chapter 2 meeting

Our next meeting will be at 1:00pm on September 24, 2008. It will be held at the WVIA-TV studios, 100 WVIA Way in Jenkins Township, Pennsylvania. Our guest speaker will be Mr. Mr. Paul Keller, Product Manager, Test and Measurement, Harris Corporation, Broadcast Communications Division.

Mr. Keller is currently a Product Manager for Test and Measurement in the Broadcast Communications Division of Harris Corporation. Mr. Keller has been involved in broadcasting for over 30 years in all aspects of radio and television production, post production, and transmission. Mr. Keller is a member of the AES, SBE, and SMPTE. He holds a BSEE degree from Drexel University, Philadelphia.

He will present a program on digital television test and measurement.

Position Offered

WNEP-TV, Local TV ABC affiliate in Northeastern and Central Pennsylvania, has an immediate opening for a broadcast engineer. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, maintenance and repair of broadcast equipment, including cameras, recording devices, ENG and SNG equipment, graphics equipment, RF transmission equipment and computer peripherals, PC networking, Newsroom computer systems. A thorough understanding of IP and associated architecture is desired. Knowledge of FCC rules and flexible work hours are essential. Ability to work without supervision is helpful. Minimum two years experience maintaining and repairing broadcast equipment or equivalent electronics degree experience preferred. SBE Certification a plus. Competitive benefits package.
